Our Senior Leadership
Richard O’Brien, President
More than two decades of experience
Mr. O’Brien spent eight years dedicated to the contaminated soil industry. He has held sales positions with the two companies who were pioneers in the thermal treatment of petroleum contaminated soil.
His first position with Soil Recycling Technologies in Hunt Valley, Maryland was in a sales and sales support role. With no experience in the environmental field, Mr. O’Brien was asked to develop and expand the existing sales base while developing new markets to supply the firms recycling facilities. Mr. O’Brien left SRTI and headed up the sales duties at Clean Earth of New Castle in New Castle, Delaware. While in this position, Mr. O’Brien expanded the client base and developed new markets for the Delaware facility. He was responsible for all lead generation and shared many of the project management duties. In his four years with the company, he grew sales by 100%.
After leaving Clean Earth, Mr. O’Brien partnered with George Dalphon and started Beneficial Soil Solutions, Inc. Beneficial Soil Solutions specializes in the transport and disposal of hazardous and non hazardous soil. Mr. O’Brien is responsible for all the sales functions of this company and has developed this startup firm into an industry leader.
Mr. O’Brien has a Bachelor of Science degree from Mt. St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Maryland. He is a member of numerous professional organizations dedicated to environmental concerns. Mr. O’Brien is vice president of newly formed Beneficial Soil Savers, LLC, a marketing company dedicated to innovative technologies for soil treatment and reuse of waste materials.
